I want to hang a banner on the Library's railing. How do I ask for permission?

Who decides what banners go on the library railing?

Answer

Students, faculty, and staff may approach any librarian at the Information Desk with the request to post a banner on the building railings.

The banner must meet the following guidelines:

  • Banner subject must be related to Cabrillo campus activities, and should generally be for scheduled events, not perpetual banners.
  • Plastic ties, and string are acceptable for hanging banners. Do not use staples.
  • Banners should be attached to the railing and should not extend below or above railing.
  • Banner width should not wrap beyond the distance between two columns.
  • Students, staff, or faculty should return and remove their own banners and all mounting pieces.
  • The Library will dispose of any banners that remain after an event date has passed.

Unauthorized banners may be removed.
